"Papa finally finished the greetings, and, with the wide churchyard now mostly emptied of the cars that had cluttered it like teeth in a mouth, we headed to our car" - Page 29.

The reason why I liked this quote is because I thought the comparison of a parking lot with cars to a mouth with teeth was extremely unique. This expresses Adichie's originality especially for her first novel.

"'Aren't [the plants] pretty?' Aunty Ifeoma asked. 'Look at that, green and pink and yellow on the leaves. Like God playing with paint brushes'" - Page 142.

"Perhaps we all changed after Nsukka–even Papa–and things were destined to not be the same, to not be in their original order" - Page 209.

This is a quote that resembles the official change in the lives of Kambili and Jaja. They finally embrace independence while they are maturing from naïve teenagers into experienced adults.
