Half of a Yellow Sun

In 2006, Adichie's second novel, Half of a Yellow Sun, released symbolic references to the brutal Nigerian Civil War during the 1960's.

The novel received the 2007 Orange Prize for Fiction and was considered the New York Times "100 Most Notable Books of the Year."

In 2013, the Toronto International Film Festival presented Adichie's novel as a film by Biyi Bandele. The movie will release in the United States early summer of 2014.
